to quote sean combs, this bitchassness has got to stop. i'm getting tired of it. one of these days, somebody is going to realize that certain people are picking on the wrong damn southern belle with an attitude - namely, me!!
why would it matter if certain kids like me and are happy to see me sub? apparently, it just chaps people's ass to know that i'm more popular than they are. heck, it had to happen some day. it wasn't like i was miss popularity when i was in high school. now that i'm back at the same damn school subbing i'm much more popular, not that i really give a flying squirrel or two. i'm there strictly b/c i don't have any other job and subbing gives me an excuse to not stay home and watch the boob tube.
first they wouldn't let me sub for one teacher b/c i'm not certified in education, but i do have a degree in the freakin' subject being taught - yeah, they knew from the beginning LAST YEAR i wasn't certified, but they let me teach for a full week anyway before letting me know i'm no longer needed. assholes. b/c some people might come across this i'm not going to go into further details about this particular subject.
speaking of bitchassness - when did kids become so dang confrontive (if that's even a word)? they will sit there and not only tell you they aren't going to comply with the rules or do what you so nicely asked them to do, heck, they will get up in your face, yell at you, make fun of you, and tell you what they are or aren't going to do. they are under the impression i give a yellow brick road. sorry, folks, i'm not programmed that way. i've been pushed around way too long to take that type of behavior from anyone, much less a kid.
i simply pulled out my repertoire of southern-bellishness attitude. they are still trying to figure out why i didn't cower in front of them.
i let them know i wasn't going to argue with them, sent them the famous raised eyebrow you don't impress me look, and wrote their little asses up. i sent one to the principal's office b/c he was pissing me off. of course, he was sent back eventually (probably nothing happened to him), but he was VERY quiet the rest of the class.
and to top it all off, one of good kids who didn't do anything wrong, got in trouble b/c she came to see me during one of my classes. she had permission. the teacher i was subbing for didn't like it. not like the class was doing anything. they had done their worksheet and were watching a movie.
someone out there - help me to understand. please.
